Helping fundraisers close major gifts with professional prospect research
You and your organization have worked hard to build your donor database. Now that you have more donors and friends, you probably don’t know each of them personally. How do you find your best prospects among the many? Who should you spend the most time with? Who should get the most mail? Why should you use donor prospect ratings? Anytime you want to narrow a large list of donors to the best prospects for your fundraising goals, you can use donor prospect ratings. Aspire Research Group has helped clients find those last donors to wrap-up a campaign, find major gift and planned giving prospects, and create special and annual mailing lists. What are donor prospect ratings? |

Recency |
Identifies best prospects for annual appeals: We know that those who have given recently are more likely to give again. Donors often feel good after giving and if asked before that feeling fades, are more likely to give than other donors and non-donors. |
||
Frequency |
Identifies best prospects for planned giving: Donors who give frequently – multiple times a year or even monthly – feel good about your organization. This continual engagement and closeness to your organization identifies those most likely to consider your organization a part of their family by making a planned gift.
| Monetary | Based on giving, identifies possible prospects for major gifts (is NOT a wealth screening): There are donors in your database who have made small gifts and are capable of giving more. The monetary rating will not identify them. However, combined with the other ratings, the monetary rating does a good job of alerting you to those donors you may want to investigate further for major gift capacity.
